Description of the business environment:
Provide operational Search And Rescue (SAR) rear crewman expertise to joint bid for the UK SAR-H contract.
The rear crewman will be responsible for initially developing client solution, but may be required, dependant on contract award to help set up the AirKnight Flying Trials Unit at Lee on Solent and then progress to deliver SAR.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Identify and support the specification generation of SAR specific role
equipment, typically;
Stretchers, medical equipment, strops, bags, litters, back boards, and an MIRG water pump. - Define the rear crew SOP's that includes the medical standards to meet current and anticipated requirements.
- Help define the FTU and acceptance teams definition, roles and schedule of activities to accept the aircraft, role equipment and their combined functionality through SOP’s .
- Support cabin lay-out development for the chosen helicopters, including medical and role equipment positioning and stowage in a variety of roles.
- Help define the mission station functionality and lay-out
- Help define the ground and in-flight mission planning functionality and usage
- Help define the medical station functionality and usage
- Ensure effective communications with management and within the team to meet all specified requirements.
- Foster good working relationships with the Authority, partner companies, personally and through the capture team.
- Through encouragement, team working and personal example, foster a spirit of continuous improvement within the team.
Essential Skills:
- Worked as an active UK SAR rear crewman within the military or civil
fields (preferably both) for a total of 5 years
- Medically trained
Minimum - Ambulance Technician trained.
Preferably - Paramedic trained.
